Restaurant & Jazz Lounge
The Nimrod was originally two separate homes. The smaller of the two, built in the 17th century, was located near the ocean and was struck by cannon fire from the British frigate, the HMS Nimrod, during the War of 1812. The hole remains today, though the cannonball disappeared years ago.
Jim and Gwyn Murray have operated the Nimrod since 1995. Jim previously served as Executive Chef for 14 years at the Waterfront Dining Room in Woods Hole and as banquet chef at Longfellow's Wayside Inn, Boston Post Road, Sudbury. Jim is also a talented musician and has been a member of the Raw Honey band since the mid 1970's.
Gwyn is currently enrolled in the Professional Chef's Program at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Jim and Gwyn take great pleasure in marrying their two passions, high quality food and music, here at the Nimrod. We hope you enjoy the experience!
